How To Buy Traffic For Your Website

There are many websites and products that are supposed to generate traffic. In reality, however, it's hard to get visitors to visit your website, click and buy something. We tested 3 techniques and we share our discoveries here. We believe that 1) PPC campaigns are an absolute necessity. 2) Paid inclusion in newsletters, advertisements and banners. They can succeed if they are well located and well designed. Note: Industry lead generation information is somewhat protected. Lead generation and buying traffic is a complex activity with connected networks and groups. There is not much information on this topic easy to find on the internet. Part 1: Buying a paid newsletter

Market study - Purchase of advertising

We bought the ad in two popular newsletters. Both bets were in the price range of 750 to 1,000 USD. For both campaigns, we provided a banner with text that could be included in a newsletter posted on the Internet and sent to several e-mail lists of 25,000 to 500,000 subscribers. They waited between 300 and 3000 clicks. Of these, 10% of visitors could participate in a free Opentracker study and, based on these reviews, a percentage of people would buy subscriptions to the site's statistics. We've created separate landing pages for each shipment so we know exactly how many people have reached each page.

Results - collect data

In both cases, the numbers were below expectations. For the first expedition, we received 10% of the visitors we expected, but the visitors showed a great interest, according to the pages consulted. For the second shipment, we got the expected traffic volume, but less than 10% of visitors created test accounts. The average number of clicks was much lower, suggesting that this group was significantly less interested than the first group of mail.

The percentage of visitors after the first call to action and "do what we want" was higher for the first group than for the second group. This is easily explained by the average number of pages viewed per person. As a result, the lower the average number of pages visited, the lower the possibility of conversion.

Landing page best practices

If your campaign spans multiple days, test the landing page and compare the results. On the right side, you can see where users have clicked, in order of popularity. At one point, we found that the average number of visits per page was very low, which means that no one came to our homepage (the login page). We change the landing page and direct visitors to the "Create a free trial" page. This resulted in a further decrease in the average number of pages displayed. People did not respond well because they arrived directly on a registration page.  The challenge is to provide a well-constructed site that achieves the goal, invites it to explore and encourages visitors to achieve the desired action. In this case, a text link provided the best results .

Text links were the most effective way to control traffic.

You do not know what quality of traffic you will receive. There is no way to guarantee that your visitors are acting. Our conclusion is that someone has come up with a tortuous way of creating clicks that seem human. We suspected that there were real people's computers or that the computers were switched on one way or another, for example, "paid for navigation". We do not know how the traffic was generated. We believe that this type of technology is often misused to send traffic, for example to websites displaying Google Adsense lists. In other words, these people buy these clicks and send them to their associated or associated sites.

In this case, we requested a refund and a refund was issued as soon as possible, without complaint.
