Digital Marketing: What is SEO, SEM and SMM?

With effective SEO, your site will appear higher in search engine results pages (SERP) because it has a positive relationship with the search engine ranking algorithm.

There are many ways to improve the SEO of your website to improve organic digital marketing. First, you need to do a keyword search to determine the phrases that your customers are likely to write to search engines such as Google. Then you want to create engaging and original content for your different websites containing these frequently searched keywords. The efficiency, architecture and mobile optimization of your website are other factors known to be critical for search engine optimization. Finally, other more sophisticated factors, such as regular publishing of relevant content, effective metadata, and correct ALT tags will increase your SEO performance.

SEM: research marketing

Search engine marketing (SEM) refers to SEO, as both deal with digital marketing in search engines such as Google and Bing. However, SEO usually refers to the optimization of internal and organic websites, while search engine marketing is usually called advertising via a paid media budget. While SEO helps to make website traffic more algorithmic, SEM acquires by buying ads in search engines. The first four results include a small green box labeled "ad" under the main title link. This means paid advertising or search engine marketing when a brand or company has paid Google to display its ads at the top of the page for that keyword.

This form of SEM is often called pay-per-click advertising (PPC).

SMM: social media marketing

SMM refers to both organic and paid digital marketing on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Social media marketing includes many different activities, and many see the future of digital marketing. While social media channels are becoming the center of online activity today, consumers are discussing here. In addition, it is also the nerve center of business and brand engagement for large populations.
